The Government of Manitoba has had a longstanding student exchange agreement with the city-state of Hamburg, Germany. This agreement formalized exchanges between Manitoba and Germany that have been active for the last three decades. The agreement with Hamburg was renewed in 2017.
Manitoba’s high school exchange program with Hamburg provides numerous advantages for students and families in Hamburg and Manitoba.
The agreement also allows post-secondary students and recent graduates to apply for positions as English language assistants (to teachers in Germany).
Assistants have the opportunity to improve their German by living and working in Germany and also acquire some teaching skills.
