The New York Times Company is launching the first College Life Fair to provide students, parents and exhibitors with an improved college fair experience. This event aims to bring together all of the components needed to develop an understanding of college admissions, college life and the resources available for success.

The New York Times is collaborating on the fair with the Illinois Association for College Admission Counselling and Chicago Public Schools. The International Conference is WACE’s medium-size event, attracting approximately 150-250 delegates (academic, corporate, student, and government) from 15-25 countries. The International Conference is held during the years that the World Conference is not offered and has replaced what was referred to as the “Regional Conference”, which strove to target a particular region, whereas the International Conference does not. Similar to the World Conference, the International Conference also offers Plenary & Concurrent Sessions, although it may or may not offer the refereed paper option. BCCIE is very pleased to announce that the BCCIE Summer Seminar 2012 will be held at the outstanding Delta Grand Okanagan Resort & Conference Centre along the shores of Lake Okanagan in Kelowna’s bustling Cultural District. Kelowna lies in the heart of BC’s wine country and will be the perfect backdrop to Western Canada’s largest international education conference. The opening reception has been confirmed at the historic Laurel Packinghouse, a designated national heritage landmark. BCCIE plans a robust conference of over 24 concurrent sessions, streams for leaders and newcomers, the return of the National Forum, and the chance to network with international education leaders from around Canada. The second edition of the Conference of the Americas on International Education (CAIE) will be held on 26-28 April, 2012 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As a follow-up to the first meeting that was held last October in Canada, the Board of Brazilian University Rectors (Conselho de Reitores das Universidades Brasileiras - CRUB), the Forum on Brazilian University Counselors for International Affairs (Fórum de Assessorias das Universidades Brasileiras para Assuntos Internacionais - FAUBAI) and the Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF), will be joining with the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE) to hold CAIE 2012.

In October 2003, the Government of Manitoba entered into agreements with the city-state of Hamburg and the state of Lower Saxony. These agreements formalized exchanges between Manitoba and Germany that have been active for the last three decades.

Manitoba has high school exchange programs with Hamburg and Lower Saxony in Germany which provide numerous advantages for these students.

The agreement also allows post-secondary students and recent graduates to apply for positions as English language assistants (to teachers in Germany).

Assistants have the opportunity to improve their German by living and working in Germany and also acquire some teaching skills.

In October 2003, the Government of Manitoba entered into agreements with the city-state of Hamburg and the state of Lower Saxony. These agreements formalized exchanges between Manitoba and Germany that have been active for the last three decades.

Manitoba has high school exchange programs with Hamburg and Lower Saxony in Germany which provide numerous advantages for these students.

The agreement also allows post-secondary students and recent graduates to apply for positions as English language assistants (to teachers in Germany).

Assistants have the opportunity to improve their German by living and working in Germany and also acquire some teaching skills.
